Description
This Building Block Type belongs to Working Area Security & Support (SS). This facility is meant to assist in system administration, by storing the configuration of IT (infrastructure) facilities outside of those facilities themselves. "Configuration" in this respect can mean two things:
- parameters that can be altered so as to influence the operating of the facility ("system settings");
- data on the facility that only describe the facility ("system information").
A Configuration Register may or may not be used by people or systems outside of the IT department, since certain types of configuration information may have meaning outside the system administration realm.
