Description
This Building Block Type belongs to Working Area Server (SE). This facility offers a means to run business processes, equivalent to the Application Engine. It offers the following functions:
- support for one or more "Business Process Execution Languages" that specify the interaction with the business processes;
- provides isolation from the physical infrastructure on which it runs, so that the processes are independent of the platform.
This Building Block Type is often applied in IT-landscapes that are based on a Service Oriented Architecture to support and automate business processes.
