Description
This Building Block Type belongs to Working Area Client Realm (CR). A Workspace Engine is a facility that offers a (virtual) computing environment to one or more (possibly remote) end user(s), with which the user(s) can execute applications.
The facility has the following characteristics:
- offers computing capacity (processor cycles and memory space) to execute (virtual) workspace software;
- offers (standard) operating software, routine libraries and sub-functions that can be invoked by client application code;
- operates in conjunction with a Presentation facility to serve the desktop to end users.
