Scalability fixed has ordinal number 1. It's one-sentence description is:
"Capacity cannot be scaled".

When a facility has a fixed scalability, then the capacity of the facility cannot be increased or decreased. For example:

  • a cheap NAS appliance cannot increase the capacity of its fixed built-in disks, nor have extra disks attached;
  • a scanner has a fixed scanning speed, that cannot be increased, nor can you add multiple scanner devices under one document feeder.
